The title says it all. This game is really fun to play. The mat is huge, but fit on our dining room table. The game "pieces" are excellent and more like toys than game pieces. The quality is evident throughout. I highly recommend playing the advanced rules.
I would add two house rules.
1) A pirate must either return to his/her homeport or have a skirmish before loading another cargo from an island.
2) Each player may move a minimum of one square and shoot one time per turn. All spinner results are in addition to the minimums.

This is a very fun game. Two pirate ships try to "sink" each other by sending cannons over to the other one. Beware - it is a VERY large game and takes up a goodly amount of floor space.
I really do like this game, but it has two big drawbacks. The first is obvious, it takes a lot of space! It takes space in the cupboard and space on the floor. Not an easy game to just whip out. The second is its high cost. Not unreasonable for what you get, but very pricey for a game that is finished in a matter of minutes.
If you love pirate ships, have space and cash to burn, this is the game for you!
