5Great interaction game for twoAug 29, 2008
By Linda Oskam "dutch-traveller"
Babel is a game for two players that takes 30-45 minutes to play once you know the rules. Each player tries to build temples: the higher the temple, the higher its value. To build the temples you need workers and they come from all over the Eufrate and Tigris area: there are cards with five different tribes and once you have three cards of a certain tribe in a row you can either build your temples faster or you can wreck havoc among the temples/tribes of your opponent (or both). You need a good combination of luck (which tribes do you get) and strategy, but thinking further then 2 steps ahead does not make a lot of sense as you never know what your opponent is gonna do.

And that is exactly what makes this game so attractive: there is an enormous amount of interaction. Yes, you can build your temples and have a nice strategy, but before you know it your temples are in ruins, your tribes have joined your opponent and you can start all over again.

A thoroughly enjoying game.
