a good toy for the moneyFeb 24, 2010 so, we haven't actually filled it with sand yet since the winter hit us pretty unusually hard this year. I thought for sure they would have been able to play outside before now. But, nonetheless, they heartily enjoyed playing in this empty sandbox for several hours. They really like the color/design I guess. And that they can hide under the lid. By the way, the lid is attached and not free. It pivots around but cannot be carried off away from the sandbox itself. In my opinion, that's a good thing. My children like to carry things off and I'll never know where I'll end up finding it. My somewhat sensory-processing-challenged daughter really enjoys the tactile input of playing with sand and that's why we bought this. But I didn't want a big sandbox because I'm really not a fan of finding sand all over the insides of their clothes & underwear. I wanted something small, moveable, and cheap. The two of them, they're 4 and 2 years old, can both squish and sit in the ladybug & really enjoy themselves. But, I'm hoping they keep their bums out of the sandbox and use it for their hands & toys only. I got what I was looking for in this sandbox and it's a hit with the children, even without the sand.
Nice, but Smaller Than I ThoughtJan 28, 2010 This is a very cute, sturdy sandbox that we use primarily as a baby pool. It's on the very small side and probably wouldn't work for more than one small child.
So Cute!Oct 15, 2009 My daughter got this for her second birthday. She was so excited and loved the ladybug - then she found out it was a sandbox and was just thrilled. She likes to sit on the head of the ladybug with her feet in the sand. It was the perfect addition to our small backyard playground.
It is a little smaller than the turtle version but not nearly as flimsy as the ones I've seen at KMart. It is very durable and the lid stays on with no problems.
Bought it for the dogs......Sep 18, 2009 I gave away our Turtle to my "neice" so she would have a pool to stay cool in, so this is a replacement for our dogs. Purchased because it is smaller and more durable and has a cover.
Great smaller-sized sandboxAug 25, 2009 Excellent size for a patio or small area. My two-year old and her friends (similar age) love this sandbox! We've only had it for a month, but so far so good. I read the reviews and purchased this product based on the comments. Great bargain.
