fun game!Feb 01, 2010
Our family played this at Christmas and it is a worthy successor to "Apples to Apples" which we have been playing since it came out many years ago.

Say Anything is a great party game, suitable for friends, family, and even people you just met. Each player takes a turn reading a question. The other players write their answer, and the judge (the question reader) chooses which answer they like best. After the judge's choice is secretly locked in, everyone else gets 2 wager chips to either put on 1 answer or split between 2 answers. Each chip that matches the judge's choice gets a point, and the player who wrote the best answer gets a point as well.
The subjectivity of submitting and selecting the best answer is the heart of the game. The judge's choice is sure to raise a few eyebrows and even spark some friendly debate. Putting your own opinions aside and playing to the judge is essential if you want to win. (As a result, the better you know the judge, the more likely your chances of winning.) Still, a creative or universally appealing answer will work when you're not sure what the judge thinks.
Essentially, Say Anything takes the answering and wagering component of Wits & Wagers and adds the subjectively chosen answer component of Apples to Apples. Two great games combined into one.

I played this game a few months ago when I went to a "meetup" board game party. We played with 8 people. I knew one other person in the group. It was/is a great ice breaker game for folks who don't all know each other.
Lots of laughs on people's answers. I would get this as a gift for anyone who has board game parties or loves games.

Party game with tons of replayabilityDec 08, 2009
Say Anything is a fun, simple party game that you can play again and again due to the sheer number of cards and the variety of prompts on each. Its only downfall is that newcomers to a group are at a severe disadvantage, since the game is all about giving good personalized answers during each player's turn and guessing which answer each player is likely to choose.
With a group of family or close friends, Say Anything is an enjoyable way to see who knows you best, who has a really great memory, and who can make up the most entertaining responses when they have no reasonable guess!

This game is so fun. We play it at every party we host and all of our friends and family love it!
