Any Active Toddler Will Love ThisJul 24, 2010 My wife and I bought this for our daughter's second birthday. I ordered it the Sunday before her birthday party (the following Saturday). We got the notification that it had shipped on the 14th. I was not contacted by the delivery company until late on the 16th, stating that they would be in my area Tuesday between 12P-4P. I told them that was not possible so they said the next available date was the following Saturday between 12P and 4P. I got a call the 23rd, late afternoon, from the shipper asking to change the appointment to earlier in the day on Saturday. I did not return the phone call but the shippers called me about 35 minutes before their arrival at 10:30am. Not exceptionally pleased with the delivery time and service. My suggestion is leave at least two weeks for delivery. If you or one of your family members is at home during the during the work week, you'll probably be more pleased.
As for the product itself, it's not quite as "sturdy" as we would've liked. I am not worried about my two year old up on there, but a 5 year old would likely be pushing it. Even after the four screws are attached, it isn't perfectly stable and has some movement to it when pushing it side to side. A warning about assembly: please note that I had to borrow a Dremmel tool from a neighbor to sand down one of the holes that the side's peg fit into. It was not machined out properly and would not assemble properly without this. It was probably 1/3rd of an inch in diameter too small.
My daughter absolutely loves it, however. The ladder is great and the slide is pretty long, something I'm very pleased with. The structure is not too tall but the sides are high enough that I don't worry about her falling over it. The price initially seemed "high" but all products in this area are priced about the same, so that's something to consider.
I would make the purchase again, however I would order it significantly earlier and would hope that I could put it together without the aid of a Dremmel tool.
Oh, and the box is huge and my wife and daughter enjoyed playing in it too :)
Fabulous purchase!Jul 09, 2010 This climber/slide has been the BEST toddler purchase I've made thus far... It is worth every penny! My daughter is 21 months and LOVES it! I bought it, yearning to have something for her to exert some physical activity. We live in Florida, where it rains almost everyday in the summer time, and the park equipment is to HOT to even touch, let alone play on it... This climber is a perfect stand-in for our afternoons inside. We also added a little Dora couch that opens up and fits perfectly under the platform. This purchase covers ALL your needs! It's a semi-club house, a climber, and a slide. It was super easy to put together too! I was able to put it together all by myself without Daddy's expertise. The 4 screws were a little difficult at the end, but overall... Not difficult. I sincerely recommend this product! I'm not one to write a review either, but this product deserve it! Way to go STEP 2!
climberJun 29, 2010 I bought two of these items for my grandchildren. Both love this. It was easier to put together. It offers a lot of climbing options--an important activity for my toddlers. It will be easy to move indoors for the winter. I highly recommend this item.
climberJun 06, 2010 My 3yr old enjoys the little hideout underneath more then anything. If we didn't have a park with a big slide right down the street that he visits often. I think he would enjoy the slide on this much more but he doesn't seem really interested in it. Having a 4 month old I know in the years to come it will get plenty of play.
Good OneMay 19, 2010 we bought this for your 16 month old daughter to play in the basement, it really liked it but only the slide part which is okay for now. She only uses the long slide & small one she hardly likes.
iam sure we would get more out of this as she grows but all in all iam extremely happy with this product.
Only complaint is there are no bolt caps specially which gets exposed on the top base where kids usually sit.
