The vexation expansion is a good addition to the base Trans America game, for those that have an older copy (as it comes with new copies of the game, I believe). Each player is given three tracks of their own color, over which only they can travel. This creates more strategic opportunities, especially when crossing mountains/rivers or joining two networks together.
